Landladies, regulars, passers-by: the pub is an open house. Anyone may enter anytime. The pub can also turn into a refuge or a place to go on a bender and to crash. A place for jokes as well as for tears. Restaurants resemble a theatre showing scenes out of real life. Pubs are like little ships made of paper, floating on the sea of globalization.
