About This Project

For Sarina Arnold, the top model from Uri in central Switzerland, the birth of her daughter was a shock. The little girl suffered from a cleft lip and palate. Brigitte Winkler, a pediatric surgeon in Berne, would like to pass on her expertise and know-how. On behalf of a Swiss foundation the two women travel to Kyrgyzstan to treat children with facial deformities in the poverty-stricken Central Asian country.
 A story from a country with marvelous landscapes but serious problems, of children yearning to live with a normal face and of two women who learn that helping others enriches one’s own life.

Für das Urner Topmodel Sarina Arnold war die Geburt ihrer Tochter ein Schock. Die kleine hatte eine schwere Lippen-Gaumenspalte. Die Berner Kinderchirurgin Brigitte Winkler will als Seniorin ihr Know-how weitergeben. Die beiden reisen für eine Schweizer Stiftung zu Kindern mit Gesichtsfehlbildungen ins bitterarme Kirgistan. Eine Geschichte aus einem Land mit traumhafter Natur, aber schweren Problemen von versehrter Schönheit, von der Hoffnung auf ein neues Gesicht und von zwei Frauen, die erfahren, dass ihr Hilfeinsatz auch das eigene Leben bereichert.
