DocumentaryTV – 2023 – CH – 50 min. – HD
The young Russian pianist Sergei Tanin spends a few days at the Villa Senar on Lake Lucerne, where the famous Russian pianist Sergei Rachmaninov spent the summer months in the 1930s.
The spirit of the great pianist and composer lives on here to this day. Tanin plays Rachmaninov’s music and, in the enchanting atmosphere of Villa Senar, we discover, through stories that evoke emigration, exile and nostalgia, that the two Russian musicians are linked by an existential experience. Like Rachmaninov after the Russian Revolution, Sergei Tanin has lived far from home since the outbreak of war in Ukraine.
